The religious preach their message on street corners, while the unconvinced make their own sly comments about religion. The most famous piece of graffiti in Australia was the one-word sermon, Eternity, chalked by Arthur Stace on city footpaths for thirty years. It still resonates with Sydneysiders, touching some subliminal emptiness or guilt.
