The free horizontal noticeboard is a platform for activists, especially those who would never dare spray graffiti on a wall. Rightly or wrongly protest groups believe that size and repetition are effective. They paint giant slogans across roads and dot whole districts with their stencils. The teamwork involved is good for group morale.
